Tulle, Scissors, and Ribbon

Lil Girl Tutus are the must haves for those little princesses. They are perfect for holidays, pictures, birthdays, presents, and dress up. They are cheap and do not take long to make. I made a few tutus for the few expectant moms that I know are expecting lil girls!
Most tutus are made with elastic and I like them but I found that if you use ribbon you can squeeze them closer together to make it smaller with a bigger bow or separate them further apart to last awhile for that growing girl. For a newborn you need about 16 inches and then for each size up add an inch. I just stick in the middle and go 18-20 inches to last a while and my two year old toddler still fits in them.
I tie it around my leg others have used chairs and hangers. I get tulle and have it cut 6 inchs wide and 13 inches in length. I use a range of pieces to a tutu. 40-75 depending on how full or not full I want it.
You take a piece of tulle and fold it in half so it skinny and long (hotdog not hamburger).then you fold it in half and place it under the ribbon so the fold it is right at the top.
Then you take the loose ends pull it over the ribbon and under the fold of tulle to make a knot.
And pull to tighten. Keep repeating until your ribbon is full.
(35 pieces of tulle)
(40 pieces of Tulle)
I made this tutu for my daughter Rylee and Abagail. Rylee's shirt says "Big Sis" but at least they can share a cute outfit togehter and make some great memories and photos out of it.

(38 pieces of Tulle and the purple tutu up at top is 50 pieces of Tulle)
What do you think??
